Master relational algebra, declarative SQL querying, normal forms, and enterprise transactional database design.
This course delivers foundational mastery of relational database management systems through formal mathematical models and industry-standard SQL. Students explore schema normalization up to BCNF, ACID transactional guarantees, and advanced ANSI SQL query construction. Practical projects implement high-throughput querying, indexing strategies, and automated migrations in enterprise PostgreSQL.
Two complete tracks. Study either or both — each has its own exam and certificate.
A rigorous mathematical exploration of the relational model, relational calculus, schema decomposition theory, and internal storage structures.
Mathematical formalization of relational data structures, declarative relational calculi, and operator equivalences.
